Men, whether Christians or not, face a lot of stress at work, at home, and in social circles. The stress is compounded because men shy from sharing their hurt. Christian men can look towards the Bible and prayer for strength. Interaction amongst men in Church groups can also help men to adjust to Christian living amidst the pressures of life.
The Quakermen Programme (Men’s Ministry) was formed in order to take care of men’s issues through fellowship meetings. The program was started at FIC
in 2011. Prior to 2011, the Church was mainly supported by the Women Programme (USFW), the Youth and the Sunday School Programmes. Although a few men supported these programmes, most men tended to take a backseat in Church affairs. This impacted the Church negatively as most men were not vailable to provide the required leadership in Church projects and programmes.

Quakermen at FIC Local Church crafted a vision and mission for themselves. Their vision is: ‘Quakermen Programme that excel and brings light to the World’ (Mathew 5:14-16). Their vision is: ‘To lead, labour, listen, love and mentor spiritually, socially, economically and emotionally as a congregation of Friends’. The
aim of the programme is to make Quakermen better family priests, husbands, fathers, and brothers in Christ who are responsive to the needs of the Church, family and society. (Jeremiah 29:11).
